Taipei – 12 May, 2022 – Noname Security, the complete proactive API security platform, today announced the establishment of their Taiwan office. In line with its growing footprint within the Asia Pacific region, the company has also appointed Ariel Chen to lead the expansion of the Taiwan market.

Lim Pun Kok, Vice President Sales Asia Pacific at Noname Security, said, “Noname Security is excited to venture into Taiwan as we continue to expand our presence in Asia Pacific to meet the growing demand from enterprises everywhere to easily manage the risks involved with deploying APIs. Cybersecurity incidents have a significant impact on an enterprise’s operations, strategy, and finance, and it is critical for Taiwanese enterprises to begin shoring up their defenses. The appointment of Ariel to lead the Taiwan office is step for the company in the right direction, as she brings with her a wealth of experience within the industry.”
As demand for APIs continue to surge, enterprises will experience a significant increase in API security incidents. According to a report by Gartner, APIs will be the top attack vector for web applications in 2022, which means the need to secure APIs becomes a major concern for businesses.
“The reliance on APIs to digitally transform businesses is growing exponentially, especially with the rollout of initiatives such as public cloud services, open banking, mobile healthcare, and new business and developer ecosystems. More than 80 percent of all web traffic relies on APIs, it is of paramount importance that API security is taken seriously. API security is virtually non-existent or outdated in some scenarios, and the need to bring their security infrastructure to a modern level of specifications and requirements is quintessential for the longevity and sustainability of their enterprise. Noname security presents an excellent opportunity for enterprises to secure their API infrastructure before it can be exploited,” said Ariel Chen, Sales Director at Noname Security.
In a bid to strengthen its offerings within the country, Noname Security’s Taiwan office has also appointed Dr. Zhang Ruixiong as an advisor to the company. An information scientist and educator, he currently serves as the President of the Taipei University of Commerce.
Noname Security, fresh from securing USD 135 million in Series C funding at USD 1 billion valuation, protects APIs in real-time, detecting vulnerabilities and misconfigurations before they are exploited.
