API Security Trends: Healthcare Sector

Noname Security collaborated with Opinion Matters to conduct research for the annual API Security Trends Report. In this survey, 631 senior cybersecurity professionals were surveyed to better understand the challenges and trends facing UK and USA businesses when it comes to their API security posture.

New global open healthcare standards are designed to ensure the safe exchange and sharing of healthcare information within strict compliance standards. However, healthcare organizations witnessed a 9% increase in API security incidents in 2023 compared to 2022.

What did our healthcare respondents say?

• Network firewalls are the top attack vector in 2023 (27%) compared to Authorization Vulnerabilities in 2022.
• 79% say API security is more of a priority now than it was 12 months ago.
• 60%  have a lack of visibility of their API inventory
• 15% are testing APIs in real-time — increased from 8% last year.
