Securing the API Attack Surface

Organizations need effective API security solutions to reduce risk as cloud-native development scales and help their teams discover, manage, configure, monitor, and protect their APIs to keep pace with modern software development.

To gain further insight into these trends, TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) surveyed 397 IT, cybersecurity, and application development professionals at organizations in North America (US and Canada) responsible for evaluating or purchasing cloud security technology products and services.

Key findings include:

• 92% of organizations have experienced a security incident due to insecure APIs over the past 12 months.
• 75% of organizations typically change or update their APIs on at least a weekly basis.
• 66% of organizations are significantly increasing their spending on API security.
